The after party

After all the cake, ice cream, and candy from the birthday party, it was time to burn some energy. Hubby and I took Prez and his cuz to go hiking. They both armed themselves with sticks ("so we can knock the heads off any wild animals")...okay then! Don't they look excited?

Into the woods we went. It was getting dark so the picture does look a little scary which is why cuz decided to walk beside us rather than ahead of us. ;) So much for the sticks, eh?

Getting deeper and watching where they stepped.

Prez was looking for craw-dads, but found fresh water clams instead. I'm surprised it wasn't a bug of some kind.

Here's cuz taking leaps to and from the bank to the middle oasis. I thought the shot captured the moment nicely.

Hubby with the boys by one of the waterfall drop offs. We're talking Texas waterfall--not Hawaiian Falls. :)

With darkness seriously settling in, we headed back out of the woods.

Hubby takes the lead and captures this rag tag bunch...oh wait, that's me!

It was great fun and since nobody got ticks I'll call it an awesome day!
